France to launch COVID-19 revaccination campaign

The French Minister of Health, Aurelien Rousseau, said a vaccination campaign against coronavirus infection will be launched on October 17th in the country, TASS reports with reference to the France 2 TV channel

Mr. Rousseau noted that the COVID revaccination will be carried out simultaneously with flu vaccinations. “A new coronavirus vaccination campaign will begin on October 17th and may be accelerated if the new COVID strain spreads at an increased rate,” he said, urging citizens to take more responsibility for their health, also recalling of the use of individual respiratory protective equipment and voluntary quarantine in case of infection.

In France, the quarantine was cancelled at the beginning of the year due to a decrease in cases of infection. According to social services, as of January 1st, about 54 million people – or about 80 percent of the population – were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the country. 41m people were revaccinated.
