Syrian FM commented on Western sanctions against Belarus

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic has issued a statement on the imposition of sanctions against Belarus, in which it condemned the restrictions and hostile statements of Western officials and their attempts to interfere in Belarus’ internal affairs

"These measures – which Western authorities are accustomed to impose on those who do not revolve around them and who make their independent national decision – not only violate the UN Charter, international law and the principles of sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of states, but also undermine the stability and development of these countries, including the Republic of Belarus," the statement reads.

It is noted that Syria supports Belarus and declares its full solidarity. The Arab Republic is ready to further strengthen strong and historical relations in all areas with the country, thereby strengthening the ability of both friendly states to resist external pressure.
