Foreign Minister: Belarus ready to contribute to common efforts to preserve peace in the region

Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik spoke of peace initiatives and the desire to contribute to ensuring security in the region as he addressed an expanded session of the BRICS Foreign Ministers

"Since 2014, the word ‘Minsk’ has become a symbol of persistent attempts to find a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian conflict and to update the European security system," the Belarusian diplomat stressed. “No matter what, we do not deviate from our sincere desire to restore peace and ensure security in the region.”

Mr. Aleinik invited the meeting participants to join the discussions in Minsk as part of the Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in Changing World international conference scheduled to be held in late October or early November this year.

"We believe in a multidimensional approach to security, which includes economic stability and peoples’ social well-being,” the Belarusian Foreign Minister said.
