FM: outrageous ousting of migrants into Belarusian territory is blatant violation of UN Convention
As stated by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in his speech at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the outrageous ousting of migrants into Belarus’ territory is a dirty page in the book of European ‘democracy’. He clarified that the military of some EU countries beat and torture thousands of refugees from Asia, Africa and the Middle East on Belarus’ border with the European Union with impunity.

“Dozens of them [refugees] were killed, and this is recorded by international independent sources. Many people have been buried in unnamed graves. By the way, the Council of Europe has recently unequivocally condemned such actions. It also criticised a new Polish law that expands the range of legal use of firearms by the Polish military against refugees. This is how ‘enlightened Europe’ welcomes those who are fleeing from the horrors and upheavals born by the policies and interference of the collective West in the sovereign affairs of foreign countries,” Belarus’ Foreign Minister stated.
Mr. Ryzhenkov added that these actions are a blatant violation of the 1951 UN Refugee Convention. “All the facts have been recorded in detail, and they will soon be sent to the relevant international authorities. Actually, these authorities should have started investigating this case a long time ago,” he said.
