FM Makei on official visit in Iran

Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei is on an official visit to Iran – as tweeted by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry

So far, there are no other details about the visit of Vladimir Makei to Iran. The Foreign Ministry posted only the information about the start of his visit on October 26th.

As noted by BelTA, visits of the kind traditionally include foreign ministers’ negotiations on a wide range of topics, meetings with representatives of the country's top leadership and discussion of issues of political, trade, economic and cultural co-operation. Various documents are usually signed as well.

In September, Vladimir Makei held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on the side-lines of the UN General Assembly session. The parties confirmed the need to intensify Belarusian-Iranian trade and economic liaisons in the near future, and the Iranian Foreign Minister invited Vladimir Makei to pay a working visit to Tehran.
