FM: Belarus interested in restoring peace, security and stability on European continent
Belarus is interested in restoring peace, security and stability on the European continent – as stated by Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov while lecturing for the Academy of Management students
“As you can see, the crisis of the architecture of international and European security is directly projected onto Belarus, which is an integral part of it. Being in the centre of Europe, we – like no other – are interested in restoring peace, security and stability on the European continent, and we are doing everything possible for this. At the same time, we proceed from the fact that, if the great powers cannot come to an agreement today, this does not mean that small and medium-sized states – like Belarus – should simply wait for the outcome patiently. Actually, we are not waiting, but looking for compromises and ways of settlement this crisis,” Mr. Ryzhenkov said.
The Foreign Minister added that an international conference on combating illegal migration in the region is planned to be held in November this year, and all interested parties – including neighbouring countries, other EU and CIS states – have been invited to attend. “A number of the EU ministers have already confirmed their arrival as potential participants of the conference,” Mr. Ryzhenkov said.
