FM announced agenda of Lukashenko's meetings at World Climate Action Summit
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko will hold a number of bilateral talks on the side-lines of the Baku summit – as announced by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov
According to the diplomat, a meeting is planned with ‘a great friend’ of Belarus: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. “As the presidents agreed during their last meeting in May, an assessment will be given to the implementation of the agreements reached and secured by the relevant protocol then. We are ready to discuss all these issues, there is progress in all directions today, and it primarily embraces trade and economic co-operation,” he said.
The Belarusian leader also plans to meet with colleagues from Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America on the side-lines of the summit. Mr. Ryzhenkov commented, “The bilateral agenda and, above all, the issues of trade and economic co-operation will be worked out. I am sure, taking into account the recent elections in the United States and a certain transformation of views around the world on the possibility of resolving the Ukrainian conflict, our colleagues will also be interested in Belarus' opinion on the conflict in Ukraine, taking into consideration the political authority of our President and his involvement in many processes and peace initiatives.”
