First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection: age-old wisdom and hard work of our people is source of Belarus’ prosperity
The age-old wisdom and hard work of our people is the source of prosperity for Belarus – as noted by First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Natalya Pavlyuchenko during the May Day celebrations in Minsk’s Pobedy Park
“Today this holiday is more relevant than ever,” she said. “We’re honouring working people. The country’s economy employs more than 4.1 million citizens of different ages. It’s very important today to assess the contribution of every working Belarusian to the development and prosperity of our country. It’s vital to appreciate labour, to cherish labour and to really appreciate working people.”
The First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection added that the honouring of labour dynasties will also take place today.
“The tradition of labour dynasties continues in Belarus,” she stressed. “It’s important that these dynasties develop in such areas as industry and production. It’s vital that the older generation passes on their experience to young peoples. More than 400,000 working citizens are over the retirement age. Why is this important? Because it is an experience, mentoring, wise advice to the younger generation. Over 20 percent of workers currently employed in the economy are young people under 31. Today, purposeful work has been built in Belarus to orient young people towards labour relations. I’m convinced the age-old wisdom and hard work of the Belarusian people, the ability to unite and consolidate forces in the name of achieving common goals is an inexhaustible source of prosperity for Belarus,” Ms. Pavlyuchenko asserted.
