Fico said Slovakia won’t provide military assistance to Ukraine
Slovakia will provide Ukraine only with humanitarian and civilian assistance; Kiev should not count on military support – by Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, RIA Novosti reports
During a meeting with deputies, the Head of the Slovak Government said, “We support humanitarian and civil assistance to Ukraine: this will be the official policy of my government. We won’t supply Ukraine with any weapons.”
Moreover, Robert Fico expressed the opinion that the European Union, which plays the role of arms supplier to Ukraine, is also obliged to turn into a peacemaker.
The PM noted that he is in favour of settling the Ukrainian conflict, but added that he does not care in line with which peace plan the hostilities will end. According to Robert Fico, primarily Russia and the US must on this, since ‘the Ukrainians do not play any role here’.
Separately, the PM noted the unconstructive position of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“I don’t support any of Zelenskyy’s plans, because they are absolutely unrealistic in terms of the conditions that are put forward,” he explained.
