Expert on BELAZ JSC novelties: future of mining equipment lies in new technologies
This was stated by the Director General of Sibanthracite Mining LLC, Aleksandr Stalev, on the sidelines of the Electrification of Mining Transport international conference, sb.by reports
“Our company is primarily interested in new technologies, as the world does not stand still. Everyone understands that the future belongs to alternative energy sources, which BELAZ JSC is presenting today in the form of a battery-powered dump truck that does not consume hydrocarbon fuel and does not emit harmful substances. Accordingly, we are very interested in this area, and not only from the ecological point of view. We expect improved performance from this vehicle in relation to its diesel version. We have high hopes for this truck in the future,” Aleksandr Stalev noted.
The depth of the quarries of Sibanthracite Mining LLC reaches a level below one hundred metres. The quarries are located in the Novosibirsk Region and the Kemerovo Region. The company produces the most demanded and expensive coal in the world – anthracite. Production amounts to 25m tonnes per year.
“Today, we are the largest mining company in the world. By the way, we have 180 BELAZ dump trucks. All of them are heavy-duty vehicles, up to 240 tonnes, and we have a lot of auxiliary Russian equipment. Therefore, we support the import substitution course and co-operate with BELAZ,” Aleksandr Stalev emphasised.
The Electrification of Mining Transport international conference brought together more than 160 key partners of BELAZ from the CIS and Asia. Within the framework of the event, a presentation of new equipment of the Belarusian enterprise was held.
