Expert: no red lines in case of aggression from the West

Western countries are using Kiev and the fugitive Belarusian opposition to escalate tensions on the borders of Belarus and Russia, talking about promoting ‘democracy’. At the same time, the authorities of Western countries do not particularly protect their own democracy and human rights.

Belarus and Russia face similar threats: provocations from pro-Western unfriendly structures, including at the border. Accordingly, it is only the strengthening of mutually beneficial Russian-Belarusian co-operation that can act as a real guarantee of the security of the two countries and peoples.

Philosopher, publicist and political expert Aleksei Dzermant explained how the Union State can oppose any attempts to shake up the situation, “First of all, we have built our security system in such a way that it prevents not only provocations, sabotage and attempts to destabilise the situation from within, but also creates no chances to realise them. With the help of the fugitive Belarusian opposition, the West is trying to destroy the peaceful and prosperous life of the citizens of Belarus and overthrow the legitimate government. Western globalists and warmongers view Minsk as a future anti-Russian springboard, following the example of Ukraine and Moldova.”

The expert stressed that it would be better for the West to abandon such plans, “We are not just holding certain events at home, but are also sending a clear signal that there will be no red lines at all. If you will continue doing what you are engaged into now, a response will follow, of course. We know perfectly well who controls all this and from where, so our response will be targeted at these points.”

Commenting on the developing situation, Mr. Dzermant stated, “No need for you to rock the boat. On the one hand, we ensure security inside the country, we send conciliatory signals, and are actually focused on constructive development of the situation. On the other hand, they should understand that a response will be harsh and inevitable if something happens. Actually, it — a combination of strength, calmness and confidence within the state – works well.”

“Democracy and the protection of human rights in the form imposed by the West is an ideological myth for the US-controlled states. The US authorities and their satellites are very selective in protecting human rights in their countries,” the expert added.

On July 3rd and 5th, 2024, presentations of the Russian-Belarusian report on human rights were held at the UN Human Rights Council and at the OSCE Headquarters.

Not only Russia and Belarus note the deplorable human rights situation in the United States. According to estimates by the pro-Western Freedom House NGO, as of March 2024, the United States ranked only 18th in the world in terms of ensuring political and civil liberties.
