Expert: nature of Polish army re-equipment leaves no doubt regarding Warsaw’s true intentions

The strengthening of the NATO military group in eastern Poland, the increase of the US military contingent, as well as the strengthening of the combat potential of the eastern flank cannot but affect the adjustment of the defence policy of Belarus and Russia. Such forced militarisation requires an adequate response from the two allied countries, since Warsaw’s actions in the military sphere primarily pose a threat to both Russia’s Kaliningrad Region and the western regions of Belarus – as noted by military analyst Aleksandr Tikhansky.

“Our response to militarisation is the updating of two strategically important documents: the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine, which were approved by the Belarusian People’s Congress, as well as the updating of Belarus’ Constitution. According to the changes made, we have removed our nuclear-weapon-free status and – with the help of Russia – have placed tactical nuclear weapons on our territory. An extremely important factor in the new version of the Military Doctrine is the possibility of the preventive use of military means for the country’s defence. This means that in response to verified information about the preparation of aggression, we can eliminate the threat by preventive means. The nature of the re-equipment of the Polish army leaves no doubt regarding the true intentions of Warsaw, because the country that is preparing for defence buys, first of all, those types of weapons that can keep a conditional enemy from attacking, e.g., air defence systems, anti-tank warfare, etc. Meanwhile, we see the purchase of almost 1,500 tanks. But according to the laws of military strategy, the task of tanks is to break through the enemy’s defence line in order to advance deep into its territory. Washington’s plans to turn Ukraine into an anti-Russian springboard have been thwarted. It is obvious that overseas strategists now see Poland and the Baltic States as such a springboard. Therefore, in response to the growing threats, Moscow and Minsk are gradually developing their defence potential, improving the Union State regional group of troops, and strengthening the unified air defence system. Belarus and Russia will adequately respond to Warsaw’s military hysteria, which has recently resulted in an increasing militarisation of the border strip,” the expert noted.
