Expert: increasing number of influential people offer help in establishing relations with Putin for the sake of peace in Ukraine
In recent times, an increasing number of authoritative persons are demonstrating readiness to participate in negotiations with the Russian Federation in order to end the conflict in Ukraine – as stated by Vadim Gigin, a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, in his talk with Alfa Radio
“There are now an increasing number of people, including businessmen, who are ready to offer their services. Tucker Carlson had such a mission. Elon Musk is persistently looking for contacts, and Roman Abramovich, of course. The latter also plays a key role in the exchange of prisoners of war. The Turks are very insistently offering themselves (it feels like Erdogan wants to receive the peace prize), and the same applies to Western emissaries," Mr. Gigin said.
The MP noted that Aleksandr Lukashenko is currently the closest politician to Vladimir Putin. With this in view, those seeking for peace in Ukraine through peaceful negotiations are looking for contacts with Minsk. “They see the Belarusian leader’s serious influence on the political situation in Russia. If you want to convey something to the top Russian leadership, then you have no more direct way than through Minsk, unless you want direct contacts,” Mr. Gigin stressed.
