Expert: implementation of Osvey project to contribute to Union State technological sovereignty

The implementation of the Osvey project will contribute to ensuring the technological sovereignty of Belarus and Russia – as noted by Ruslan Kosygin, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security of the House of Representatives. At a meeting of the second session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation, the deputies approved the bill ratifying the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on the development and mass production of the twin-engine light multi-purpose Osvey aircraft.

“Today we are talking about a joint large-scale strategic project that we are currently implementing together with Russia. It will ensure that Belarus reaches the level of the countries that have the opportunity to create and implement tasks for their own aviation production, aviation industry, and their own aircraft,” Mr. Kosygin noted.

According to the parliamentarian, this is a global and ambitious task.

“As practice shows, there are no unsolvable tasks for Belarus: we have built a nuclear power plant together with Russia, we have implemented a strategic task, and today Belarus is included in the list of space powers. Aviation industry is the next step. Believe me, we can handle this task too. This is another confirmation that Western sanctions against Belarus and Russia are futile and have completely failed. The implementation of this strategic project will contribute to ensuring national security and technological sovereignty of Belarus and Russia.”
