“The growth of labour productivity is an important qualitative indicator in conditions of the development and growth of investments. It is a key parameter, which is higher than the GDP growth rate. Currently, labour productivity indicates the qualitative development of Belarus’ economy,” Ms. Medvedeva said.
As noted by the expert, Belarus is moving towards improving its technological structure and increasing investments in fixed assets. “Actually, the contribution into the active part — machinery and equipment — is progressing at a faster pace, and this means Belarus is developing its technologies, progressing and developing better products that will eventually be bought by domestic and foreign consumers,” she added.
