Expert explains why Baltic States, Poland building defence lines on Belarus’ borders
Warsaw, Kiev, Vilnius, and Riga are trying to build defence lines alonf the Belarusian border, accumulating troops there. Military analyst Igor Chibisov told the SB TV YouTube channel what purpose they are doing this for: offensive or defensive.
According to the expert noted the issue of border security is very relevant now.
“Our people say that ‘parents, Homeland and neighbours are not chosen’. This applies, of course, not to the peoples of the Baltic States and Poland, but particularly the leadership of these countries. It is clear that the US and NATO are making a cordon sanitaire around our Union State. We must pay tribute to Western propagandists and ideologues for the fact that they carried out their work competently after the collapse of the USSR. Moreover, their ‘seeds’ fell on fertile soil. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the West turned Poland and the Baltic States into anti-Russia. Since the launch of the special military operation, they have done even more work, hammering into people’s heads that Russia will begin to attack their countries in the future. This pressure affects people,” Igor Chibisov underlined.
The military expert also explained why the leadership of neighbouring countries behaves like this towards Belarus.
“They have a lot of problems inside their own states, there is no economy there. That’s why, they need to somehow find a way out of this difficult situation. There has always been one solution: to create an enemy. And who is the enemy? Russia. I would also like to note that Poland is a very serious issue for us. Firstly, speaking from the historical point of view, Poland has always been nurturing (and continues to do so) the idea of recreating the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea. Secondly, this country stated that it plans to create one of the strongest armies in NATO, replacing the Bundeswehr in Germany and increasing the number of military personnel to 300,000 people. Our neighbours are militarising and buying offensive equipment, saying at the same time that they are defending themselves,” Igor Chibisov stressed.
