Expert explained what would have happened if Lukashenko hadn’t planned to take part in 2025 elections
If Aleksandr Lukashenko had announced that he was not going to run for the President in 2025, the Belarusian society would have been rocked ‘to the point of extreme resonance’ this year – as noted by Aleksei Avdonin, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, in his talk with Alfa Radio
In his talk with media representatives after voting at polling station No. 478 in the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he would participate in the Presidential elections as a candidate next year.
“It would have been an ideal model for the West, for our enemies, if Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he was not going to run for the President. Just imagine what would have happened in this case during this year: disarray and vacillation. It is clear that in these conditions our enemies would have already begun to prepare some alternative political leaders, nominating and promoting them. Over this year, all this would have rocked Belarusian society to a state of extreme resonance, and it would have been very difficult to cope with it,” noted Aleksei Avdonin.
According to him, by making such important, historical statements, the President of Belarus actually stabilises the situation, eliminating even the possibility of any negative replication.
“Ordinary Belarusians, our voters, immediately understand that they must continue to work calmly, everything will be stable, there will be wages, the economy will grow, and the quality of life will improve. All this enables them to calmly take care of their families and think about the essentials, rather than about some political intrigues,” added the expert.
