Expert explained what Trump's presidency will bring to the United States
Donald Trump's rise to power in the United States and focus on global confrontation with China will not lead to anything good – as stated by Aleksei Avdonin, an expert at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel
The expert said that Trump is a classic supporter of the policy of protectionism, protection of the domestic market by any means.
“As you can remember, during his first presidential term, the main measures were aimed at fighting China. Another key point that he is promoting is the destruction of European industry: he says it does not matter where goods are produced, so transfer your facilities to the United States and trade with the whole world from here. What can this policy lead to if Trump comes to power? Definitely, the topic of Ukraine will be closed for good, since it is the focus of the Democratic Party and [current US President Joe] Biden," Mr. Avdonin explained.
The Democrats are trying to close this issue as soon as possible before the presidential elections or somehow freeze the conflict, to focus on the confrontation with China, and the expert commented, “In reality, for world politics, the world economy and for humanity as a whole, Donald Trump's coming to power and orientation towards a global confrontation with the second economy of the world bode no good.”
The US presidential election will be held on November 5th, and Donald Trump has already gained the necessary number of delegate votes to be nominated as a Republican candidate for the post of Head of State.
