Expert commented on Russia’s decision to conduct exercises with non-strategic nuclear weapons
Professor at the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation, retired colonel Aleksandr Tikhansky, explained why Russia and Belarus are forced to conduct exercises with nuclear weapons today
In his talk with the SB TV, the military-political expert noted, “Some media outlets report that Vladimir Putin ordered to conduct these exercises after Macron's statements about the possible dispatch of foreign troops to Ukraine and Cameron's words that Kiev could use British weapons to attack Russian territory. Meanwhile, a statement of the leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives of the US Congress remained in the shadows for some reason: he said that they could not allow Ukraine to be defeated, and – if this happens – America would have to send troops [into the conflict zone]. This should be taken very seriously.”
Mr. Tikhansky recalled that Belarus had also joined the exercises on testing the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, “The part of artillery and aviation that the Belarusian army has and that can use special [nuclear] ammunition will be involved in these exercises. There was no way to do without the Belarusian army and the related units. The question is whether these actions will stop hotheads or not.”
