Expert: Belarus, Russia share the same values
This opinion was shared by Piottr Petrovsky, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, during the Minsk-St. Petersburg video bridge – Preservation of Historical Memory and Countering the Falsification of History
According to him, Belarus and Russia share the same values: the friendship of peoples, the fight against discrimination, including socio-economic. We oppose sanctions and the domination of a unipolar world.
“Look at the actions of the collective West. Let me remind you that they do not celebrate Victory Day, declaring May 8th a Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. If we listen to contemporary diplomats, we will understand that they have a completely different idea of values. At the same time, the Union State – together with our other partners in the collective East – challenged that hybrid machine that raises neo-fascism to a pedestal,” the political analyst noted.
He cited the example of the Green Party, which today is imposing a new colonialism and fascism under the auspices of a unipolar world and the struggle for human rights.
“There is a geopolitical aggravation not only in terms of the struggle for spheres of influence, but also in terms of dividing the world into value blocks. We have made our choice in this regard. Therefore, we see the support of those developing countries that have suffered from discrimination and colonialism of the collective West,” explained the expert.
Piotr Petrovsky also gave the example of Ukraine, where flags, slogans, symbols and ideas of Nazism are common, “It cannot be said that people do not have historical memory. They just choose the other side, sharing a criminal ideology.”
To resist attempts to falsify history, he called for the implementation of joint projects in Belarus and Russia, including those of a value and ideological character.
