European Commission announced increase in military budgets of EU countries by 20% since 2022

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that the military budgets of the EU states have increased by 20 per cent since the start of a special military operation in Ukraine in 2022, TASS reports

The President of the European Commission noted that national military budgets have increased by 20 per cent compared to 2022, and these funds are beginning to compensate for the military underfunding in recent years.

Ursula von der Leyen called for the EU-led unification of Europe's military industry in order to make it more efficient.
