Erdogan: Turkiye expects to become SCO permanent member in future

Turkiye wants to become a permanent member of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation and sees no obstacles to this – as stated by President Tayyip Erdogan, TASS reports

After returning from the SCO Summit in Kazakhstan, the Turkish leader made a statement. “Our position is that we should be accepted into the organisation not as a dialogue partner, but as its other members. Iran has already joined the SCO, and Pakistan is also its member. The SCO currently has nine permanent members, and there is no talk that Turkiye will be unable to be among these countries, although it may take some time," Anadolu agency quoted Tayyip Erdogan as saying.
