Erdogan supported idea of humanitarian corridors for the wounded in connection with Ukraine situation
Speaking at the Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century international conference in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he supports the idea of organising humanitarian corridors to evacuate wounded people from the combat zone in Ukraine and other regions, TASS reports
Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that Türkiye supports the initiative to organise humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of the wounded, not only in the context of the situation between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, but also in regard to the developments in Syria, Libya, and Azerbaijan. “We take the wounded from there, provide them with medical treatment and then send them back home,” the Turkish leader stressed.
According to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ‘this is a humanitarian obligation as well as a Turkish moral obligation’. Ankara will continue to engage in this work.
