“As is traditional, on our important state dates and holidays – Independence Day and National Unity Day – the President speaks about the main thing. These have a deep meaning. Of course, the Head of State takes the opportunity to bring us acute, relevant and even operational information,” the spokesperson said. “As far as his statements [during a large-scale patriotic forum to mark National Unity Day] about the upcoming provocations and the possible escalation of the situation in late September-October are concerned, the President received such information. What is the point? As the Head of State underlined, according to this information, possible intensification of hostilities is possible in the zone of the special military operation in the near future [late September and early October].”

“It is alarming that, according to the information received, some events on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border should be the reason for the aggravation of the situation between Russia and Ukraine, particularly, the alleged Russian drones, which allegedly fly from Belarus’ territory to Ukraine. This may become the reason for the escalation, and this can be used by Ukraine to strike back at Belarus, namely, at infrastructure facilities. This is a quote,” Natalya Eismont said.

“Naturally, there are no strikes from the territory of Belarus, and Ukrainians know this well. Nevertheless, it may be an attempt to involve Belarus in the war. The Head of State has spoken about this many times. They tried to drag our country into this conflict many times, but it didn’t work out. The President is doing everything to avoid escalation. Here’s another way, another attempt to involve us. Why? This may be one of the steps towards destabilising the situation inside the country on the eve of the presidential elections,” the spokesperson concluded.
