Education Ministry: about 350 foreigners enrolled in Belarusian universities
The number of foreigners admitted to higher education institutions in Belarus this year is about 350 people – as informed by the Head of the Main Department of Vocational Education at the Education Ministry, Sergei Pishchov, summing up the interim results of the entrance campaign
The number of people enrolled in higher education institutions from among the citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries remains approximately the same from year to year. “These youngsters enrol on the same terms as the citizens of Belarus, according to the results of the centralised exam and tests that applicants take in their countries. It should also be noted that the admission of foreign citizens for higher education is still ongoing in Belarus, so a more accurate figure will be known after the completion of the admission campaign,” the specialist commented.
Mr. Pishchov added that, out of the total number of foreign applicants, a significant number were accepted according to the results of the Unified State Exam, “There are about 100 of them, and these people have enrolled in various forms of education — both free and paid.”
