Economy Ministry: 30+ new production facilities to appear in FEZ in 2023
Last year, 25 projects were successfully completed in free economic zones, while at least 30 new production facilities will appear this year – as reported by the Belarusian Economy Ministry on its official website
The most significant completed projects include the commissioning of the first start-up complex of the plant for the production of veterinary products in Vitebsk, the launch of the MDF production line in Smorgon and the refrigeration complex in Brest, as well as the completion of the construction of the last third stage of the Cooling Systems Plant LLC in the Minsk District.
The Economy Ministry noted that the successful implementation of new projects is facilitated by investments in FEZ engineering and transport infrastructure. In 2022, thirteen new infrastructure facilities were put into operation, while, in 2023, at least ten such facilities will appear there, including five large electrical substations.
“The presence of ready-made infrastructure will enable FEZ residents to complete the construction of modern enterprises this year and subsequently launch the production of new export-oriented products. In 2023, it is planned to build about 30 new factories, workshops and production facilities,” the economic department said.
In particular, it is planned to commission a woodworking plant in the Svisloch District, to open the production of glass containers using innovative energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies in Grodno, to build a plant of unique X-ray equipment in the Minsk District, to complete the construction of an aircraft repair plant in Minsk, and to establish production of medical goods in Gomel.
