“Regular dialogue is a platform where experts from the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam can discuss and find solutions to topical issues in a friendly atmosphere,” Natalya Taraskina, the Deputy Head of the Section of Special Issues of Trade Regulation of the Trade Policy Department at the Eurasian Economic Commission, noted.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry, the Embassy of Belarus and the trade mission of the Russian Federation in Vietnam.

The event consisted of two sections, conducted with various departments and dealt with issues of access to the Vietnamese market for automotive and pharmaceutical products, which are the cause of concern for manufacturers in the EAEU member states.

“A better understanding of each other’s regulatory systems is the right way to identify areas for further co-operation,” Pham Minh Thanh, the Deputy Director General of the authorised certification body under the Vietnamese Transport Ministry, underlined.

Following the meeting, the parties were able to significantly increase the understanding of Vietnam’s regulatory systems on specific issues and identify possible further actions to improve the conditions for access of EAEU products to the Vietnamese market.
