Before participating in the NATO Summit, the Polish leader said that everything will depend on what agreements will be reached at the peace talks if Ukraine decides to conduct them.
"If a collective decision of the alliance is made to send troops to ensure compliance with the ceasefire, then we – as a responsible NATO member – will certainly support this decision," Mr. Duda said.
In addition, the Polish President said that his country supports Ukraine's rapid accession to NATO after the end of the conflict. At the same time, he noted that Ukraine's membership in the alliance before the ceasefire could lead to a war between NATO and Russia because of Article 5 on Collective Defence of the North Atlantic Treaty.
NATO Summit is being held on July 11th-12th, with participation of all leaders of the alliance states, including US President Joe Biden.
