Duda: NATO adopted plan to transfer 100,000 soldiers to Poland if necessary
The North Atlantic Alliance has adopted a plan to transfer one hundred thousand soldiers to Poland, if such a measure is necessary – as informed by Polish President Andrzej Duda in his talk with media representatives, RIA Novosti reports
The politician's speech was broadcast by Polish television.
“I can explain what is supposed: if there is an attack, for example, on Brest’s gates, then around 100 thousand NATO soldiers would be sent to our territory for immediate defence,” Mr. Duda said.
The Polish leader added, “These are the postulates that were adopted and approved by NATO as part of the defence plans.”
As reported, about 10 thousand NATO soldiers are stationed in Poland at the moment, and most of them represent the US Armed Forces.
