DPRK said Pyongyang is forced to increase readiness for nuclear deterrence because of the United States
A representative of the DPRK Foreign Ministry said that North Korea is forced to increase its readiness for nuclear deterrence against the background of a subcritical test by the United States, RIA Novosti reports
According to the delegate, in order ‘to prepare for the strategic instability that is being created in the region and in the world due to the unilateral actions of the United States’, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is forced to take ‘necessary measures to increase universal readiness for nuclear deterrence within its sovereign right’.
The DPRK Foreign Ministry representative added that the country will not allow the creation of a strategic imbalance in ensuring security on the Korean peninsula.
Earlier it was reported that, on May 18th, the United States conducted subcritical tests at a nuclear test site in Nevada.
