Denmark, Czech Republic agreed to co-operate in providing assistance to Ukraine
Denmark and the Czech Republic have signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in providing assistance to Ukraine, and the document defines the basics of their liaisons in some areas in the military sphere, TASS reports
In a press release from the Danish Defence Ministry, it was noted that the main purpose of the agreement is to ensure the fastest possible supply of high-quality weapons and equipment to Ukraine.
Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said, "Together with the Czech Republic, we have already sent significant military donations to Ukraine, which the country badly needs. By signing this agreement, we emphasise our good co-operation with Czechs and at the same time create the basis for new donations through the Czech Republic."
According to the agreement, future donations to Kiev will be made under the previous financial scheme. In line with it, Denmark transfers funds to the Czech Defence Ministry, which is engaged in direct contacts and contracts with enterprises of the Ukrainian military industry for each batch of weapons and is responsible for control, delivery and its conditions.
It is noted that the document opens up opportunities for closer partnership between Denmark and the Czech Republic in the military-political field, as well as for co-operation between the military-industrial complexes of the two countries.
