On July 8th, Belarus’ Armed Forces are celebrating the Day of Air Defence Missile Troops. Air defence missile forces are the main defensive forces of Belarus in the airspace.
Andrei Severinchik, the Chief of the Air Defence Missile Forces, Head of the Air Defence Missile Forces Department of the Air Force and Air Defence of Belarus’ Armed Forces, said that currently there are S-300, S-400, Tor-M2, and Buk air defence missile systems in service. “They are among the most advanced in terms of destroying enemy aircraft at any altitude. As far as domestic developments are concerned, today the Belarusian military-industrial complex is working with maximum efficiency. In the near future, the troops will receive Buk-MB air defence missile systems,” he said.
According to the Defence Ministry, the training of personnel of air defence missile forces is carried out both in Belarus and in Russia.
“The modern experience of conducting combat operations in the airspace leaves a significant imprint on the development of our troops. The complexes are provided with anti-drone systems. There is constant interaction with electronic warfare units and the commissioning of new electronic warfare equipment, which provides direct cover for both complexes and objects covered by air defence systems from the effects of UAVs,” Andrei Severinchik informed.
