Defence Ministry: anti-drone shields planned for Belarus’ Armed Forces

Several training points were presented as part of the operational gathering of the command staff of the Armed Forces – led by Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin – in Slutsk, including an exhibition of weapons of military and special equipment of various branches of the armed forces and special forces, a practical demonstration of a combat episode and the options for placing military personnel in field conditions without using tents

The event gathered heads of military administration bodies, commanders and chiefs of staff of formations and military units. The participants got acquainted with the samples of anti-drone protection equipment. The need for additional protection of armoured vehicles from the use of all types of unmanned aerial vehicles by the enemy has become relevant based on the experience of the special military operation.

Colonel Vitaly Kilchevsky, who heads the Mechanised Force Department at the Defence Ministry, explained, “The Belarusian Armed Forces have made a decision to create anti-drone protective shields. The samples on show were made at our repair and restoration workshops, with assistance of the arsenals, warehouses and bases of the Armed Forces. They allow for the protection of the crews and the vehicles.”
