Cuba sent official request to Russia to join BRICS as partner country

The Cuban government has sent an official request in a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin to join BRICS as a partner country, TASS reports

Carlos Pereira, the Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, posted on X that the country had submitted an official request to join BRICS as a partner country in a letter to the President of the Russian Federation. The representative of the Cuban Foreign Ministry noted that Vladimir Putin chairs the grouping which is consolidating global politics and the hope of the Global South as a key player.
