According to Croatian Defence Minister Ivan Anusic, whose words are quoted by the Tanjug Agency, the military service will last two months, conscription will begin on January 1st, 2025. He emphasised that material conditions had been improved at all levels, including for soldiers and officers, salaries and other payments had been increased.

Mr. Anusic expressed confidence that the Croatian Armed Forces will enjoy a more attractive image, as they will become better and stronger. “We talked with the Finance Minister and came to the conclusion that there is no room for savings in modernising and equipping our Armed Forces. This is the government's position,” he said, adding that – in the modern security-related circumstances – the country should not save on the army.
