Chinese students online introduce their relatives to festival city of Vitebsk
A freshman at Vitebsk State University, Yang Shumin, is shooting videos on the streets of the festival city together with friends to later send them to her relatives in China
“This is my first time at such a large-scale festival,” the young girl admits. “That’s cool! My fellow countrymen, to whom I send photos and videos, are also delighted. They think that I’m very lucky to study in this wonderful Belarusian city. With the help of the festival, I will be able to get to know the culture of the Slavic people better. This is important, because I will spend several more years in Belarus.”
Yang Shumin, like her Chinese classmates, is a future mathematician. Maybe that’s why they are attracted to the history of the automotive industry? Young girls and boys are happy to take pictures at the exhibition of vintage official cars presented by the Interior Ministry. The next stop on their walking route is the Town of Masters. The youngsters are unanimous in their opinion: they did not expect such cordiality and hospitality when they went to study in remote Vitebsk.
