China to take part in Komodo multinational naval exercise in Indonesia

The Chinese Defence Ministry has said that Chinese Navy ships are planning to take part in the Komodo military exercise to be held in Indonesia – as reported by RIA Novosti

The Chinese government said in a statement, “At the invitation of the Indonesian Navy, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy’s destroyer Zhanjiang and frigate Xuchang will sail to Indonesia to participate in the Komodo 2023 multinational joint naval exercise to be held in early June.”

Earlier it was reported that the Indonesian Navy invited South Korea, North Korea, Russia, the United States to take part in the Komodo exercise in summer 2023. A total of 47 countries were invited.

The Komodo naval exercise has been held every two years since 2014.
