China, Syria establish strategic partnership

China and Syria announce the establishment of strategic partnership – as stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping, TASS reports

"We are jointly announcing the establishment of the Sino-Syrian strategic partnership today,” Xi Jinping said at a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad last week. The two leaders met in Hangzhou (eastern Zhejiang Province).

The Chinese President stressed that this partnership will be an important milestone in the history of relations between China and Syria.
