China names three US goals in Ukraine crisis
The US, being involved in the Ukrainian conflict, contributes to its escalation – as noted by Chinese experts for the Global Times portal, RIA Novosti reports
Wu Xinbo, the Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University, believes that the United States has three goals in the conflict in Ukraine: to comprehensively weaken Russia, stabilise the Zelenskyy regime, and to push Europe to follow its policies.
Experts interviewed by the publication said that the crisis is still far from being resolved.
“The US and the EU have not made significant efforts to mitigate the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and even moved in the opposite direction, providing weapons and ammunition. The key to resolving the crisis is in the hands of the US and the EU,” said Zhou Li, former Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Wang Yiwei, the Director of the Institute of International Relations at Renmin University of China, stressed that the responsibility for the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict lies with certain American structures.
“Four major groups in the US – a group of military conglomerates, an energy group, a financial group and a digital oligarchy – are not satisfied with the used profits and military dividends from the conflict in Ukraine,” the specialist added.
