China hopes to start simplifying procedures for bilateral travel with Japan
The Chinese authorities expressed their willingness to co-operate with Japan to simplify procedures related to travel between the two countries, TASS reports
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, China hopes that together with Japan they will strive for co-operation and jointly simplify bilateral trips. He stated this at a briefing, responding to a Japanese journalist who, in connection with the signing of a visa-free agreement between China and Thailand, asked about the relevant prospects for Tokyo.
The Chinese diplomat also said that Beijing has always attached importance to relevant issues, and promised that the Chinese side would ‘seriously explore’ such a possibility.
Earlier in Bangkok, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara and signed an agreement on the introduction of a visa-free regime. The agreement will enter into force on March 1st.
