BSU, National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico to establish co-operation in physics and mathematics
The Belarusian State University (BSY) has hosted negotiations between the leadership of the university and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to Russia and Belarus concurrently Eduardo Villegas Mejias – as reported on the BSU website
From the Belarusian side, the talks were conducted by BSU First Vice-Rector Dmitry Kurlovich, Dean of the International Relations Faculty Yelena Dostanko and Deputy Dead of the International Relations Department Vladimir Galynsky.
“The visit of the honoured guest to the Belarusian university is due to the intention to develop partnerships in the field of education and science. The Ambassador was introduced to the multi-vector activities of BSU, told about the specialties, scientific projects, and positions of the university in international rankings,” the BSU press service noted.
The parties named co-operation in the field of scientific publication activity, academic mobility, and expert interaction as priority areas. As the Ambassador underlined, liaisons between BSU and the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico in the field of physics and mathematics is seen as promising. The diplomat also outlined the possibility of supporting the publication activity of BSU young scientists in Mexican scientific journals.
Moreover, the parties noted the possibility of interaction in the field of learning Spanish. The Ambassador expressed his readiness to give a lecture on the cultural and historical features of Mexico for future philosophers, international affairs specialists, historians and geographers.
According to the BSU, in the near future the parties will work out in detail the voiced proposals with a view to their further implementation.
