British MP admitted anti-Russian sanctions don’t work

Chair of the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee Harriett Baldwin admitted that the sanctions imposed against Russia are not having the desired effect, RIA Novosti reports

“There is a unanimous opinion that the sanctions don’t work in accordance with their stated purpose – to cause real problems for the Russian economy... The IMF [The International Monetary Fund] predicts that this year it will become one of the strongest economies,” Ms. Baldwin noted in an interview with the Financial Times, adding that the longer the sanctions are in effect, the more ways there are to circumvent the restrictions imposed.
