British analyst: UK, French troops to repeat Napoleon’s fate in Ukraine
If France and the UK decide to send their troops to Ukraine, they will be defeated, like Napoleon Bonaparte. This is the forecast made by British analyst Alexander Mercouris, RIA Novosti reports
Earlier, Le Monde newspaper quoted its sources as saying that London and Paris had returned to discussions on the possible dispatch of Western military forces to help Kiev. According to media reports, the UK and France may lead a coalition of EU forces in Ukraine. They are discussing sending Western troops and private defence companies there
“It’s time to send the French Expeditionary Force to fight against Russians in Ukraine, after all, it’s the same territory where Napoleon was defeated, like many others,” he said in his YouTube blog.
The expert noted that such conversations have reappeared, despite the fact that Paris and London are facing government and political crises. Mercouris added that they can also turn into serious economic problems.
