Borovik: Belarus is guided by common sense and respect for partners
Belarus has always prioritised common sense, pragmatism and respect, rather than political ambitions, like some of our neighbours do – as stated by political scientist Vadim Borovik in his talk with the STV TV channel
As the political scientist noted, today there is a transformation and breakdown of the international system.
“This is a very dangerous period. The task of Belarus – not a small country, but a medium-sized country – is to integrate into the coalition enabling us to maintain economic sovereignty and ensure security (i.e., not to be drawn into military conflicts), while also generating maximum benefit from this,” stressed Vadim Borovik.
He drew attention to the competent actions of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko. Thus, the expert recalled that European countries, the United States and their allies imposed sanctions against our country, but we still increased the foreign trade turnover in goods and services, building competent, healthy relationships with partners.
“We’re working efficiently. We don’t hit the table too hard anywhere. We don’t spit in anyone’s direction, we are guided by common sense, pragmatism, and respect for partners while our certain neighbours are driven by political ambitions and the desire to bite someone. However, by doing so they are shooting themselves in the other foot,” added Vadim Borovik.
