Bloomberg: Hungary called on European Union to review migration policy
Budapest is calling on the European Union to review its migration policy, because the entire asylum system could collapse if this is not done – as stated by Hungary’s Minister for EU Affairs Janos Boka, TASS reports with reference to Bloomberg
According to the source, Mr. Boka believes that if the general rules are not revised, there is a risk that ‘the entire system of asylum and migration that exists in the EU’ may collapse. He stressed that the revision of the rules for the functioning of the migrant reception system will help prevent a crisis.
Earlier, the Netherlands sent a letter to the European Commission about plans to abandon the implementation of EU migration rules. Later, Mr. Boka announced Hungary's intention to join the Dutch request to withdraw from the EU migration and asylum pact, if amendments to this agreement give such an opportunity.
