Bild: 69% of Germans support farmers’ protests
The protests of German farmers are supported by 69 percent of German residents, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Institute for New Social Answers (INSA), RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Bild publication
The protests are against government plans to cut subsidies. It is noted that the highest level of support is observed among the electorate of the right-wing Alternative for Germany Party. Thus, the position of farmers is shared by 88 percent of its voters, with only 22 percent of all respondents not support the protests of farmers.
During the poll, respondents were also asked whose protest was closer to them – that of farmers or climate activists. It turned out that 64 percent of Germans sympathise more with farmers, 11 percent support more environmental activists, and 20 percent support both protests.
The survey was conducted on January 8th, covering 1,001 people.
