Belavia among top-3 most popular foreign airlines at Pulkovo Airport in H1 2024
Belavia Airlines has joined the top three most popular foreign carriers at Russia’s Pulkovo Airport (in St. Petersburg) in the first half of the year, the airport’s press service reports
According to the press service, from January to June 2024, 7.8 million passengers used airline services in Pulkovo on domestic routes, and 1.8 million on international routes.
“The most popular Russian destinations are Moscow, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Yekaterinburg and Kazan,” the airport notes. “Antalya, Istanbul, Minsk, Dubai and Tashkent have become the most popular foreign cities. Ton audition, the largest number of passengers among Russian carriers were served by Rossiya, Pobeda and Smartavia airlines, among foreign ones — Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways and Belavia.”
The press service also recalled that over the past six months, flights to Gomel in Belarus have been operated from Pulkovo for the first time.
Pulkovo is one of the largest and dynamically developing air transport hubs in Russia, located 23km from the Palace Square of St. Petersburg. Belavia and Pobeda airlines currently operate regular flights from Russia’s Northern capital to Minsk. Moreover, since March 22nd, Belavia has opened regular flights between St. Petersburg and Gomel.
