Belarusian students claim three medals at Arctic Delphic Games
The competition programme of the 3rd Open Youth Arctic Delphic Games has officially been completed, with the Belarusian delegation earning three medals and five special diplomas, the press service of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts reports
The Delphic Games are annual comprehensive competitions for creatively gifted children and youth. The competition and festival programmes include contests in ten folk, classical and modern nominations. This year, a large-scale creative project was traditionally held in Syktyvkar, gathering over 600 participants aged 10 to 25, including representatives of the Russian regions and the CIS member states. The winners were selected by a jury of about 40 prominent cultural figures.
Participants from Belarus took part in the competition for the first time. Our country was represented by nine youngsters from educational and cultural institutions of Minsk and Mogilev, who competed in six nominations: folk singing, fine arts, photography, piano, violin and pop singing.
The results are as follows: Marina Anishchik, a student of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, claimed a medal in the fine arts category while Angelina Samoletova from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts was recognised best in the pop singing category. Meanwhile, Vladislav Bayevich, a student of the Republican Gymnasium College at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, took the third honorary award, claiming victory in the violin category.
The special diplomas of the 3rd Open Youth Arctic Delphic Games were given to Aleksandra Avdoshko and Diana Goncharova in the photography category. Darya Artemova and Kristina Maksimovich won the hearts of the jury in the folk singing category while Aleksandra Lepetenok was awarded a diploma for her pop singing.
