Belarusian Cheese Day held in Tokyo
The Belarusian Cheese Day was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Japan – as informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission
As reported, Japanese businessmen tasted various types of Belarusian cheeses, glazed cheeses, butter, and other dairy products presented on the Japanese market. The participants of the event got acquainted with commercial offers of Belarusian exporters of cheeses and other dairy foods, including products of the Slutsk Cheese Factory and Savushkin Product JSC.
It was noted during the presentation that Belarus is ranked third globally in butter exports and is fourth largest seller of cheeses. At present, about 60 countries import Belarusian dairy products and the Republic accounts for 6 percent of the world trade in dairy foods.
As stated by the diplomatic mission, Belarusian dairy companies’ liaisons with Japanese partners are dynamically developing: in 2020, exports of Belarusian dairy products to Japan made $899,000.
The participants noted that Belarusian cheeses enjoy great demand among Tokyo buyers and are quickly sold out.
