Belarusian and Cuban youth to step up co-operation

The youth of Belarus and Cuba intend to strengthen comprehensive co-operation and pay special attention to economic, political, social, cultural and historical aspects – as stated by the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM), the Chairperson of the Central Council of the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organisation (BRPO), Aleksandra Goncharova, BelTA reports

Sochi is currently hosting the World Youth Festival. As part of its business programme, the BRSM and the BRPO signed agreements on exchange and co-operation for the period 2024-2029 with the Union of Young Communists of Cuba (UJC).

Aleksandra Goncharova noted that youth diplomacy knows no borders – the festival brought together young people from many countries, “The plans for the future between Belarusian and Cuban youth are evidenced by the signed strategic documents, which define the priority areas for the development of interaction between BRSM, BRPO and the UJC. The parties will co-operate offline and online in organising programmes and projects in different directions of mutual interest.” 

According to Aleksandra Goncharova, the parties agreed to exchange projects in science, technology and innovation, volunteering, environmental protection, digital transformation and other projects of mutual interest. In addition, the partners will soon work on developing roadmaps for the current year, taking into account multilateral youth exchange programmes with specific actions for each item.
